Custom 3D Printed Orthotics Barrie

The future is HERE. Barrie's First and Only 3D Printed Orthotics.

About 3D Orthotics

Here at Pro Motion Health Care, we are on the cutting edge of technology as the only rehabilitation clinic in Barrie to offer 3D Custom Printed Orthotics, and we were also the first clinic in Canada to use this new technology.

3D orthotics are medical devices that are worn inside of your shoes to correct biomechanical foot issues that affect the way you walk, run, or stand.

These orthotics are effective in treating pain caused by medical conditions such as plantar fasciitis, heel spurs, and bunions. 3D Printed Orthotics have also been successful in alleviating knee pain and lower back pain that may not have been otherwise corrected with bracing or other treatment options.

3D Orthotics have set a new standard in treatment, pain relief, and comfort, and they widely vary from over the counter and standard orthotics for feet.

Every 3D Printed Orthotic is created from start to finish with the individual client in mind and their lattice-design helps our Pedorthist, to design a device that offers a level of precision and comfort impossible to find in standard "old" orthotic options. Our 3D Orthotics are thin and light-weight, so they comfortably fit in most footwear and don't have the bulkiness of the standard over the counter options.

For areas of the foot where more biomechanical control is needed, the 3D printer fills the lattice-spaces of the orthotic without making it thicker or heavier. It the foot requires a mixture of more or less support or flexibility at various points, 3D printing can accommodate. The thickness of the lattice framework is easily adjusted to meet your individual needs using state of the art HP 3D printing technology.

The Award-Winning 3D Custom Orthotic specialists at our clinic in Barrie have made it their mission to eradicate foot pain and discomfort, allowing you to live an active and healthy lifestyle.

Conditions Treated

3D printed custom orthotics have been successful in treating many foot conditions at our clinic in Barrie including:

  • Arthritis: Inflammation of one or more joints, causing stiffness and pain
  • Tendonitis: Inflammation of the tissue connecting muscle to bone
  • Bursitis: Inflammation of the joint cushions
  • Plantar Fasciitis: Inflammation of the heel that runs along the bottom of the foot
  • Bunions: A bony bump that forms on the joint at the base of the big toe
  • Heel Spurs: A bony growth that develops around the heel bone
  • Diabetic Neuropathy: Nerve damage that can occur with diabetes
  • High Arches: An abnormally raised arch of the foot
  • Flat Feet: Underdeveloped arches
  • Metatarsalgia: Pain the front of your foot, just below 2nd and 3rd toes

The use of 3D orthotics has also been useful in reducing some causes of lower back pain and knee pain. These custom inserts for shoes manage back pain by stabilizing and improving the position of the feet, which improves the person's overall gait.

There have been several studies where knee function has been shown to improve with the help of 3D custom foot orthotics. When the arches are supported, they force the legs and ankles into proper alignment, which reduces twisting of the knee and wear and tear on the knee joint. 3D printed custom orthotics for shoes can also help to prevent sports injuries and, as well as improve sports performance.

Benefits of 3D Orthotics

Unlike other types of orthotics, 3D custom orthotics are one of a kind and 100% for you! No pre-made products or guesswork. Some of the main advantages of 3D orthotics include:

Precise Fitting

At ProMotion Health Care clinic in Barrie, we use state of the art HP software for 3D scanning, creating the most precise fit, and eliminating ill-fitting orthotics that could be caused by manufacturing errors and generic molds.

Versatile

Gone are the days of having to purchase multiple types of orthotics to accommodate various settings and activities. 3D printing has eliminated that need. These thin and lightweight medical devices are optimized for every activity.

Your custom orthotics will feel just as comfortable in a pair of running shoes as they do in a pair of dress or safety shoes. The lattice design once again allows for optimized function in each part of the foot, whether you’re walking, running, or playing sports.

Lightweight and Comfortable

Standard orthotics are generally bulkier and a bit heavier than the more streamlined and featherweight 3D printed orthotics, and they are also generally less compatible for use with various kinds of footwear.

On the other hand, the technology used to create 3D foot orthotics at our health care clinic in Barrie, allow us to provide you with the perfect amount of flexibility, stiffness, and support without the bulk and weight.

Satisfaction Guaranteed

All of the 3D printed orthotics at our clinic in Barrie are backed by a satisfaction and comfort guarantee for 90 Days. If you are not 100% satisfied with the fit and feel of the finished product. We are happy to make any necessary adjustments to ensure you walk away from our Barrie health care clinic happy and pain-free!

During Your Visit

When meeting with the Pedorthist at our clinic in Barrie, they will collect information about your complete medical history, and conduct a foot exam to determine your need for 3D foot orthotics. The pedorthist will then take 3D images of each foot, and you will complete a biomechanical assessment and gait analysis test to determine your pressure points, and they will note the way you walk and how your feet, ankles, and hips move.

You will be given a detailed review of the scan results, and a copy will also be provided to you. Your orthotics are then sent for manufacturing and they will be ready in 1-2 weeks' time. During your pick up appointment, the therapist will confirm the comfort and fit of the orthotics.

A two-week follow-up appointment will also be scheduled with our Pedorthist in Barrie to confirm that your new 3D foot orthotics work well for you. If you have any issues, questions, or concerns please let us know. As the first physiotherapy and orthotics clinic in Canada, and the only one in Barrie to offer this service, our main goal is to provide you with exceptional comfort and customer service to match!
