Acupuncture Barrie

A natural solution for pain management.

About Acupuncture Barrie

Acupuncture is a part of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), one of the oldest healing systems in the world. It's based on more than 2,500 years of Chinese medical practice, with the belief that the insertion of fine, sterile needles along pathways on the body keeps your energy in balance to prevent or cure illness.

This type of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is also effective in treating a variety of chronic pain conditions. Acupuncture Barrie is a safe and effective drug-free treatment, and it's often helpful in situations when relief couldn't be achieved through conventional treatments. Acupuncture improves the health and function of the body and promotes self-healing.

In orthopedic physiology, Acupuncture Barrie is performed on points along pathways on the body connected to the function of muscles, tendons, nerves, and joints to boost the body's natural pain killers and restore balance and function. Pressure, heat, and electrical stimulation may also further enhance the effects of treatment.

Our award-winning, licensed acupuncturist in Barrie, Ontario has over 8 years of experience in practicing Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for pain management. He has successfully used Chinese Medicine to provide care to patients suffering from lower back pain, tendonitis, migraine headaches, and a host of other chronic pain conditions in Barrie.

Your First Visit

During your initial acupuncture visit to our Barrie, Ontario clinic, our acupuncturist will ask you about your health history and perform a physical exam to determine the origin of your pain and discomfort. This assessment assists the practitioner to provide you with an effective plan of care.

Treatment will begin the same day. You will be asked to lay on our comfy treatment table while acupoints are stimulated on various points on the body to stimulate a twitch response, which releases tight contracted bands of muscles. This results in pain relief and overall improved muscle strength. The fine, sterilized needles are usually retained between 5 and 30 minutes, depending on the area treated.

In addition to traditional acupuncture, we offer several other methods of Traditional Chinese Medicine such as cupping, and Gua Sha to provide pain relief, increased flexibility, and improved mobility.
